The Ann Arbor Chapter is dedicated to increasing and expanding arts activity within our community. Through the Arts Facet, we focus on:
Youth Education: Creating and supporting educational opportunities for minority youth in the arts.
Showcasing Talent: Presenting and supporting performances by both emerging youth and accomplished professional artists across various disciplines.
National Poster Art Competition
The Ann Arbor (MI) Chapter proudly participates in The Links, Incorporated’s National Poster Art Competition. Running biennially from October through June, this initiative was created in 1995 to align with the National Walk-a-Thon.
The mission is for students create posters depicting themes centered on healthy lifestyle choices, physical activity, and holistic well-being. Holistic Health: Themes like Healthy, Energetic, Active Lifestyles Matter—Make Health a Habit empower youth to realize the lifelong impact of their everyday health choices. Local Impact: The Ann Arbor Chapter participates each cycle and successfully sponsored a local student’s artwork at the national level during the 2013-2014 competition.
