Services to Youth.
The Services to Youth facet utilizes an integrated approach to prepare young people for success in the 21st-century global workforce. Our programs focus on four primary pillars: early literacy, college readiness, the support of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and S.T.E.M. career readiness among African American youth.
Key Initiatives & Partnerships.
Literacy Support
We provide reading and education initiatives for elementary students through strategic partnerships with the Family Learning Institute, Holmes Elementary School, and the Parkridge Community Center.
College Readiness
To foster higher education opportunities, we sponsor student participation in the Ann Arbor NAACP HBCU College Tour and contribute to the Juneteenth Scholarship for college-bound students, administered by Community For All.
S.T.E.M. & Career Exploration
Our annual Take Our Daughters and Sons To Work Day introduces 30–50 students to diverse professional paths.
Collaborative Impact: Career Education
In a powerful collaboration with the graduate chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc., we host a career education panel. Students engage with professionals across various sectors, including: arts and journalism, business and law, and engineering and health care.
